Began an interest in astronomy aged 4 in 1954.
Joined the BAA in 1965, lapsed c1990 and rejoined c2010 In the meantime,
Past president Manchester Astronomical Society, currently Vice President.
Founder member 2002 and early Hon Sec, the Society for the History of Astronomy; Vice Chairman 2013-2015. FRAS since 2000, elected to Council, April 2018.

'The Forgotten Star Atlas: John Bevis's Uranographia Britannica'
'NOT 50 Shades of Grey' how to observe the surface coloration of the Moon.
'Chromospheric Bruises' how to observe the bipolar magnetic regions underlying sunspot active regions.
'Mapping and naming the Moon' A history of moon mapping and how a Staffordshire lass sorted it out.
